I was lucky enough to be invited for a makeover session with Max Factor's National Makeup Artist Bobby Carlos.
I knew that a makeover session means witnessing an expert makeup artist do his magic but little did I know that I'd actually get the inside scoop on makeup, skincare and beauty tricks!
Beauty Trick #1: Make sure you are using the right foundation for your skin tone, type and condition.
He suggests to consult with an expert to know exactly which makeup products are suitable for your skin. You and I might share the same dilemma. I recently discovered that my skin's acidic! The makeup that I use tends to lighten in color an hour or two after application. To solve this, I need to use a foundation slightly darker than my skin tone.

Beauty Trick #2: Curl your eyelashes and apply mascara. It will instantly bring more attention to your eyes and create a polished look.
I have a confession to make, I'm lazy. I'm lazy to use an eyelash curler and apply mascara. I just find it so hard to remove the makeup after and I prefer that my evening routine is quick and easy! However during the event, I think just had a change of heart. The effect of mascara on my curled lashes is just incredible! My eyes brightened up and didn't look tired at all even though I stayed up late the night before.
Beauty Trick #3: If you encounter a makeup boo-boo (e.g. eyelashes touching the skin under your eyes causing a mascara stain) don't remove the boo-boo immediately.
He said that you have to wait for a few minutes until the mascara dries up. The moment it dries up it, you just have to get a soft brush to erase the boo-boo. The dried mascara will just crack and can easily be erased. No more smudges!
