Electrified Tongues

Rumor. Scandal. Smear Campaign.

Typical scenario: One’s secret becomes an embellished tale of another and next thing you know, it’s the talk of the town.

I don’t know if we are born with electrified tongues and some of us just can’t stop gossiping about everything and everyone – and yes, including me. If there’s one resolution harder than losing weight, then it could be this – to stop spreading rumors or gossips.

Some of you might think that this could be an easy habit to break but believe me when I say when you come face to face to that one person you’re most annoyed at – you would feel that intense heat slowly rising and suddenly you can’t help but sweat like hell just to keep your mouth shut during the encounter and even after the encounter.

But come to think of it, can we honestly see ourselves profit from any of this? Would bashing another person make us feel better? Do we truly lift ourselves up when we drag other people down? I guess not. It would only make us feel worse, not to mention, feel desperate and pathetic.

Boys and girls, to put this simply, let’s all try to at least follow the golden rule, “Do unto others what you want others do unto you”, as simple as that.

Plus, it's always nice to start the new year right!

XX,
Jess
