If you know me personally, you’d agree if I say I’m the ‘basics’ type of girl. You know ‘em basic white polos and denim jeans? Oh, they’re my ultimate wardrobe staples. When the neon color-blocking trend took off, I accepted my fate. I wouldn’t be a trend follower for sometime. Haha

Going to school wearing this teal-colored jeans and wedges was a bit of a risk for me. But I guess, in exploring the fancy schmancy world of fashion -- risk-taking is always involved.

Thanks to my sister for this pasalubong from H&M! She, obviously, knows me too well.
Next time ulit ha! *cough cough*

And you know what? I’m glad I took a risk.

A Day at the Park

It was a beautiful Wednesday when I visited a friend's new home. Busy day at school and at the internship office, good thing I found some time to chill and unwind. Oh yes, it's everybody's favorite word nowadays, say it with me -- chill. Anyway, here's what I wore that day.

Bangkok Haul

The moment I came back from BKK, I had this idea of posting a haul but schoolworks ambushed me like crazy so I ended up forgetting about my entire haul idea until...an anonymous reader commented on a travel post suggesting that I should post a haul. So, I finally saved some time to put this 'haul' together.  Sorry I can't post all the things that I bought but I do hope this would suffice. 

This product works great! The last time I had an apricot facial scrub was under the brand of St. Ives but sad to say the sandy-grainy texture makes me feel that it's somehow harsh for the skin but this is different -- the texture is finer and the scent is amazing. 

Don't ask. In my defense, the store is called "Beauty Buffet". 

And everything was reasonably priced, I sweaaar! Haha there goes my excuses after the purchase.

I always go magazine hoarding whenever I travel abroad. It's just too bad, I can only take a look at the lovely photos and when I try to read the articles, the level of understanding is at zero percent. I have to admit, I wished that I was a polyglot when I was browsing through this. 

Can someone teach me how to read and speak Thai? Mario Maurer, can you please be my tutor?

Travel: Bangkok Day 3

If you've had enough of Bangkok, no worries this is the last of it. We're down to my last day in Bangkok. *tears* I can't believe how fast I fell in love with that place. 

It's love at first visit. 

We were suppose to go to the Grand Palace but time was so limited that we decided to skip on that. But, we made an oath to go there the next time we visit Thailand. 

 I admire the Thai for their religiosity and for their loyalty for their King Bhumibol Adulyadej. In fact, King Bhumibol has reigned for 65 years! Imagine that. It's like a lifetime of service.  

My visit to Thailand did not only leave me with a luggage full of clothes and accessories. More importantly, my visit made me learn things I wouldn't learn elsewhere. 

Goodbye BKK! Goodbye land of the smiles!

I've got three words for you.  

I shall return.

Chao Phraya Princess, Bangkok Day 3

Part 2 of our trip in Bangkok! 

As usual, it's gonna be more fun when pictures do the talking. I don't wanna ramble and ramble until I bore you guys to death. So let's proceed, shall we? 

The closest MRT stop from our hotel in Bangkok.

 NaRaYa fever! You bet we got them when we were there. 

 And... Beauty Buffet! Another shop that I spent a lot of time on. It's a girly-gaga laaaaaaaand! 

(see my excitement? haha)

Boarding the boat! Just in case you wanna go to a dinner cruise while you're in Bangkok, I recommend getting the tickets from Hotels2Thailand.com. They can provide you hotel transfer services. 

Talk about livin' the life of the rich and famous even for just a brief two hours. 

 Best thing about having a buffet dinner = countless food choices! 

Yes, we were still inside the cruise when this shot was taken. Cool, huh?

Terminal 21, Bangkok Day 1

If there is a Saks Fifth Avenue for Carrie Bradshaw and Henri Bendel's for Blair Waldorf then there's gotta be the city of Bangkok for Jessnothinless. I think I may have found my favorite shopping destination! Bangkok is such a magical shopping haven for a recessionista like me. 

And since I'm still quite speechless, let the pictures paint thousands of words for you. 

A Crazy Thing Called Love movie watching while waiting for the sun to rise!

You can't possibly leave Bangkok without having a taste of Thai food! 

Their Thai Iced Tea! Ahhhhhhhh! I'm in love with this. Thank goodness, I managed to snag a few packs of the powdered drink before I leave the city. 

What's left of their Songkran Festival. The taxi driver told us it's like their New Year -- Thai-style. 

The Thai people had a foam bubble party here. They were singing, dancing, jumping up and down all at the same time -- they were even armed with toy water guns! I can only imagine how fun it should have been if we joined.

Terminal 21. An airport-themed mall. 

Each floor represents a city. There's a floor for Tokyo, Paris, San Francisco, London, etc... You've got to check it out yourself. Even the bathrooms are artistically built!

The Sumo with the blue belt is looking at me. Ahhhhhhhhhh I've gotta make a decision, quick! 

Run for the exit or be squished alive? 

Indeed, it is the home of beautiful and artistically made affordable goods. 

It's my first time to feel like I can buy anything I want in the world as long as I stay away from designer malls. I feel so grateful to be able to witness the fashion, culture, living, taste and creativity of the Thai people and what can I say, I'm already impressed-- and it's just the first day! I remember sleeping that night feeling all excited for our next day tour there.
