Today is the mark of my parents' 23rd wedding anniversary and we decided to celebrate it at Tagaytay!
I just wore a simple ikat printed dress and a cardigan. I made sure to wear a cover up to cope up with the sweater weather in Tagaytay. I'm definitely loving the weather up there! I actually wished Manila has that weather too just so I can always wear a hoodie or a cardigan anytime I want. Easy breezy, eh?
I hope you guys had a lovely Sunday with your family too!

Happy Independence Day!

IMG_6599FINAL

We celebrate this holiday year after year. But do we give any meaning to it?

For office workers, it may be a celebration for being paid without going to work. For businessmen, it may come out as an annoyance -- having the obligation to pay the employees even if they didn't do any work (scenario above). And for a teenager like me, well, I honestly didn't bother thinking about it until now.
That's just reality -- year after year -- Most of us, if not all, just don't care.

We may not realize this but Independence day means celebrating the fact that the Filipino people were courageous enough to risk their lives, abandon their families, forget their dreams and all for the sake of giving this land, independence.

And here we are showing the world that 'we just don't care'. There's nothing we can do, right? It's all in the past, anyway. Wrong! We can always do something. Why not offer up a prayer of gratitude?
It's the least that you and I can do to show that we deserve our independence.

Jewelry Organization

accessorieslust howl
Oh yes, I finally found some time to clean up my accessory corner. And now I'm granting all of you a sneak peek into my collection. It's not the perfectly neat setup so please bear with me.
IMG_6473copy3
I know there are tons of other organization methods that are more 'efficient and effective' but since my collection is relatively small. I think this would suffice, for now. Once my collection expands, I might consider buying a mini-closet made especially for accessories.

I don't want my 'babies' to get bored so I entertain them with this merry go round machine.

I'm current living the "My wallet is closed. I do not want to shop" mantra but this Ombre/two-toned pair of earrings made me a vulnerable tempted shopper. I was literally just standing and staring at this pair for a good five minutes. After the whole five minutes drama, I gave up. The next thing I knew, I was holding my wallet and was heading to the counter. I have a valid reason, anyway. "What is it?", you may ask.
Well, the earrings were 70% off regular price! I got them for Php 200! Yayy.
(Oh no! I can sense Becky Bloomwood vibes) haha

HYPE at lookbook.nu and VOTE at chictopia.com

Mullet skirts are a big trend right now but I must admit -- at first, I didn't like the idea of having a short skirt in the front and a long skirt in the back. It looks a bit confusing and shall I say, a bit odd? But when I tried this skirt on, I knew that I had a change of heart.
Needless to say, I think I'm in love (yes, I'm still referring to the skirt!)
Another shameless plug. Hihi. Forgive me?
The medallion necklace can be purchased from The Bling Project

Unleash the Dragon!

Happy Chinese New Year Everyone! Some call it, "Kung Hei Fat Choi" while others, "
Gong Xi Fa Cai". Since I have no Chinese blood whatsoever, I don't know what's the most appropriate. I'm guessing it's all the same.

It's that time of the year when people try to check their horoscopes and see what's up for them this year. Well, as for me, I have nothing against lucky charms and horoscopes -- as long as it is something that motivates you to do better in life -- there's no harm in believing!

Just make it a point to draw that line between free will and determinism. You can't let anyone or anything tell you that your fate is predetermined and you "can only be this or that".  The Who Says song by Selena Gomez says it best! Haha (Who says you're not presidential, who says you can't be in movies; Listen to me, listen to me; who says you don't pass the test; who says you can't be the best;who who said... aminin! napakanta ka! hihi)
*Back to serious mode*
But you must also acknowledge the fact that not everything lies in your hands. There are certain things that you can't do anything about but to accept.

So with this, I really think I have to go back to studying. I have a looooong exam tomorrow at 8 and I can't do anything but to accept that we indeed have a test and I need to study some more if I don't wanna fail.
Part of the new bag collection by The Bling Project. Watch out for it!
Feeling cleopatra. haha

On the side note:
Due to popular requests, Accessorize is having a HUGE sale! Don't dare miss :)
It's a nationwide sale so drop off to your nearest Accessorize store.
Go! Sige ka baka ka maubusan. You know what they say, great finds are the ones that are usually snagged first.

Have a great week, everyone!

What I Got For Christmas #beautystuff

Thursday, December 29, 2011

JAPONESQUE. Not really familiar with this brand so I got really curious when I saw it. The packaging and the brand logo looks minimalistic so the first thing that came into my mind, "this is a beauty brand from Japan". But I was wrong, It's actually a brand from CA, USA!
The packaging says touch up brushes. When I opened the box,  I was so surprised to see not one, two, three or even four but FIVEEEE makeup brushes!
How incredible! Five brushes in an inch thick tube. This calls for a review. Legit review, coming up!
Next stop, nail polishes!
I've never tried this brand before -- Yves Rocher so it's really nice that people are giving me things that I haven't tried before.
This one is a pretty basic one but I still love it! Body Shop's Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel.
Hello to nice smelling shower sessions.
A big thank you to my relatives who gave me these stuff.
You know me too well. Haha
I also got my GCs from Accessorize! My sister and I didn't know what to pick. We were in the store for almost an hour. Will blog about the stuff that I got soon.
I was runner-up for the All About Bags Contest by Accessorize so yea got GCs as my prize. Read my article here

What's with Women and Handbags, Anyway?

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

I grew up wondering why women spend so much money on handbags alone. Women from all walks of life seem to covet that latest designer handbag. And honestly, they don’t care if they would put themselves on that dreadful waiting list and blow off their three-months worth of salary and just for what?
You guessed it right, a handbag. So the lingering question is...

What is with women and handbags anyway?

I think a quote from the movie, The Devil Wears Prada, perfectly explains it.
Nate: Why do women need so many bags?
Lilly: Shut up.
Nate: You have one. You put all your junk in it, and that's it. You're done.
Doug: Fashion is not about utility. An accessory is merely a piece of iconography used to express individual identity.
Lilly: Oh! And it's pretty.
Doug: That too.

If you ask me, I have to go with Doug on this one. Fashion is no longer just about people dressing up for sanity. Gone are the days, my dear. At this point in time, people take fashion seriously. Well, why shouldn’t they? It’s a booming billion-dollar industry!

Well, for a girl like me, I don’t need to have the most coveted designer bag. All I want is something that I can channel my “inner girl scout”. Instantly, when I saw this Lulu Double Zip + Hobo Bag by Accessorize, I just knew that I have to have it.
I can stuff all the things that I want to stuff and still look fashionable. I think that the best thing about Accessorize is that they offer a variety of choices that makes every girl find her perfect bag match! We all have different needs and tastes and Accessorize offers just that.

When I heard about their All About Bags Sale, I just couldn't believe it! But really, it's reaaaaaal! Everything at 50% off, even the new arrivals. Next year, I know I'll be first in line. haha
All About Bags is the first of an annual bag sale that will commemorate the love between Accessorize and its customers.   With a wide range offering of collection bags that go from day bags of urban vintage heritage and Japanesque inspired pieces to evening bags of gold and patent perfect colors with geometric prints, and satchels in tooled leathers with exaggerated fringing, all capturing the top trends and colours of the season.

At the end of the day, a handbag is an expression of the needs and tastes of both its wearer and its time. A handbag is no longer just a handbag. It is an extension of who you are. And of course “it’s pretty!” yes, that too! Haha
